This article claims our phones don't last any longer because of some fundamental science with Li-ion batteries. But that's horse crap. The 24KWh battery pack in my Leaf is Li-ion. My laptop has a bigger battery than my phone, also Li-ion. The real reason our phones don't get much more battery life than 5 years ago is packaging; every step forward on efficiency or battery capacity is consumed by making the phones thinner. Because the manufacturers have decided lasting one day is fine. They don't recognize any consumer demand for longer lasting phones as significant.
