According to Wikipedia, for Generation X "demographers and researchers typically use starting birth years ranging from the early-to-mid 1960s and ending birth years ranging from the late 1970s to early 1980s." So any members of Generation X were still children in the 70s or not yet born. I think you mean a different cohort or a different time.
