In an interview they said that a major goal of Portal 2 is to keep it just as accessible as the first one. I won't be just a "more difficult Portal 1". And judging from the trailer and Gameplay videos, there will be lots of new mechanics (e.g. some kind of fluid dynamics). They also said that it would be about twice as long as the first game. I'm not sure if I'd want that.
