Slightly off topic, but this may be one of the first cases of a reversible domain.
https://google.ai/ https://google.ai/ and https://ai.google/ https://ai.google/ both point to the same page.
- art0rz 9y agohttps://com.google/ https://com.google/ works, although it redirects to https://google.com/ https://google.com/
- CydeWeys 9y agocom.google is left over from our April Fools joke for 2015, a reversed version of the Google Search home page. More info here, grep for Elgoog: https://thenextweb.com/google/2015/04/01/roundup-all-of-googles-jokes-for-april-fools-day-2015/#.tnw_vlS1ruso https://thenextweb.com/google/2015/04/01/roundup-all-of-goog... We don't have the reversed version up anymore; it's now just a redirect.
- scoot 9y agocom.com, net.net?
- manifestsilence 9y agoSomeone should make a Windows programming how-to site and call it: calm.dotnet.com
- NanoWar 9y agoI thought dotnet.net was already bad...
- maxmcd 9y agoInteresting. You can have one too if you want. One example: limited.international and international.limited are both available
- ryanlol 9y ago>One example: limited.international and international.limited are both available Both of those appear to be blocked by the registry. Edit: Nevermind, not blocked but flagged as "premium" and sold at ~double price.
- JimWestergren 9y agoYes but google.ai is the canonical version: <link rel="canonical" href="https://google.ai/"> https://google.ai/">
- Savageman 9y agoFor some reasons, both homepages currently show as <link rel="canonical" href="http://localhost/"> http://localhost/">
- fsckin 9y agoThis domain is reversible: http://net.net http://net.net Created Date: 1994-10-23
- ehsankia 9y agoAren't .blog TLDs available. I'm surprised google.blog isn't registered.
- radec 9y agoIt appears to be registered by google, just isn't being actively used. blog.google works though
- MertsA 9y agocom.google and google.com also point to the same page.
- bbcbasic 9y agoshouldn't that be ia.elgoog
- mhandley 9y agoOf course, back in the 1980s all UK domain names were the other way round. UCL was uk.ac.ucl.cs if you used X25 and cs.ucl.ac.uk if you used TCP/IP. UCL was the gateway between the two worlds, and used magic heuristics to figure out which universe to forward email to. For example, if the domain started with "cs" it was a TCP/IP address and if it ended with "cs" it was an X25 address. Which worked well, right up until Czechoslovakia joined the Internet.
- aatchb 9y agoThanks for this, my employer (a large bank) blocks .ai
