There should be more articles like this one (https://hackernoon.com/how-to-better-classify-coachella-with-machine-learning-part-2-27912be5b12 https://hackernoon.com/how-to-better-classify-coachella-with...) clearly outlining the steps what needs to be done to solve a real world problem. The algorithms by themselves are very powerful.
