- spoonie 9y agoCouncil Tax is more like a property tax, it's roughly based on the value of your property. Not your property because you're a renter? Too bad, the property tax is charged directly to you, the occupant! ;) (Maybe it's more like an occupancy tax that pays for some of the services your local council provides.)
