I appreciate the insight in this article, but I wish I could remove all of the predictions. The insight (to me) is that it may be a good idea to take tools your company uses and make them into products, for several reasons. That's interesting and valuable to me to consider. But there are also predictions: "Amazon’s lead will only grow over the coming decade, and I don’t think there is much that any other retailer can do to stop it." The author is tunneling on one thing Amazon does. He will escape accountability for his boldness because nobody will remember this article at the end of "the coming decade." If he's right, he can drag it back out and say he called it. Otherwise, no harm.
