I propose 'self-driving cars' are the 'flying cars' of our generation: Something that seems inevitable and just around the corner, yet here we are.

- ska 9y agoThere is an important difference. "Flying cars" was always a media and popular culture thing - the vast majority of experts thought they were a long way off, if ever. This is not true of self driving cars. Self driving cars are also a pop culture thing - and the most aggressive deadlines and comprehensive deployments predictions are unlikely.
- elmar 9y agoLet me take the contrarian side and say you will have small 1-2 seat Self-Flying vehicles before Self-Driving Cars.
- themoonbus 9y agoExcept flying cars would require an entirely new transportation infrastructure. Self-driving cars adapt to what's already in place.
