Didn't it also have to respond to a http request though? Why not register the domain anyway and just leave it unhosted?

- zxcvb 9y agoThis is why you're not a great hacker / programmer or anything really. What about ISP's that return search pages for unknown domain names? Purely leaving it unhosted would not account for that scenario.
