This is pretty cool. I always find it interesting when cool mathematics ideas are used to help computer science. I remember a while back I tried implementing something like this in a hobby operating system I was making, with constants similar to the one in the post. I found them on some random paper that included constants for a bunch of different trig functions. I don't think it ended up working and I ended up using a table of values that it estimated between.
