There's a reason why public transit sucks. "...what if I have to go somewhere nearby work?" I work in a metro core area. I can walk to anything within 5 mins. Even in my residential neighborhood everything is a 15 min walk. It's actually faster by bike since I can avoid traffic issues. This is some ranty stuff. Of course cars solve a problem, but so do buses, trains, etc..
