Off topic, but is anyone else having trouble loading and reading the article? I tried 3 times and the website is utterly unusable. Keeps sending me to the bottom of the page.
- pmoriarty 9y agoMaybe you could try a different web browser?
- irq 9y agoWorks fine here in Chrome on macOS.
- alkhatib 9y agoSame on mobile with chrome, left without reading.
- JoeDaDude 9y agoIt did that to me on Safari on MacOS. But I just scrolled to the top and was able to read everything (albeit with a lot of ads).
- eridius 9y agoWorked just fine for me in Safari, but Ghostery blocked 13 trackers, so maybe one (or multiple) of those is the culprit.
- SomeStupidPoint 9y agoI gave up reading halfway through because I can't get it to scroll smoothly.
- Theodores 9y agoArrow keys worked great for me, before I discovered that it was jerky for me too, which definitely distracted, it was frustrating to get to the end of the essay.
- nikanj 9y agoSame here, but they already got my page view, and don't really care if I read the piece too. I wonder if the random scrolling back-forth ensures all the banners get actual time on screen, to maximize ad income.
- jandrese 9y agoTotally unreadable on iOS Safari. Keeps jumping around then finally jumps to the bottom and disables scrolling.
- lucaspiller 9y agoUsually Reader View works for me on bad sites, but even that can't handle this...
- colanderman 9y agoYes, scrolls randomly past 500 other articles in Vivaldi (Chrome) on OS X. Why did anyone ever think allowing JavaScript to control scroll was a good idea.
- nikanj 9y agoSomeone probably got a bonus for inventing that https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20061101-03/?p=29153 https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20061101-03/?p=...
- Illniyar 9y agoYep keep jumping every time an image or ad loads. You really should never override default scroll
- MistahKoala 9y agoYep. Utterly unusable on my Android tablet.
- puranjay 9y agoYup. Redirected me to the footer, then scrolling was a pain. Abandoned after reading the first few paragraphs. Chrome on a Windows 10. The laptop is new and fast, so it's not a hardware issue.
