Walmart is doing what any market player in its position would be doing: paying the prevailing wage (in this case the federal minimum wage). This is not a tax, or a subsidy. If you want to blame anyone, blame the government for providing such generous benefits. Since the government is going broke, and Walmart is sustainable, I know where I would start.
