Whatever their problem is, they're not the only ones to have it. Japan's been in the doldrums for decades; my understanding is that the country turns a profit, as it were, but doesn't have many opportunities for further investment. Of course, Japanese capital isn't the only capital that chases stupid stuff, especially not right now. We're all Japan these days. :)
