I agree. Trips are loads of fun. They can occasionally be stressful, and they can engender certain conflicts of style and priorities, but on the whole they are replete with novelty and distraction. People also have a habit of taking them while they're still in love, during honeymoon periods, etc. As such, they offer a poor window through which to preview the feasibility of everyday domestic life.
