I understand that you're suggesting that people having TV on in the background accounts for a lot of this, but to me that just makes it even more surprising and, honestly, disturbing. this kind of thing takes a toll on a person's unconscious mind.
- ghaff 9y agoWalk into a lot of bars/restaurant, airports, etc. etc. and you'll have TVs in the background. I know a lot of people whose first instinct when they walk into a room is to turn on the TV. Can't stand it myself but it's very common behavior.
