Thanks, I didn't know what JWT meant. When I first read the title I thought it would be about the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) which I incorrectly remembered as being named Java Web Toolkit (JWT) because with GWT you use Java.
Author would do well to edit their post, changing the title to "Things to Use Instead of JSON Web Tokens" and replacing the first occurrence of "JWT" in the body text with "JSON Web Tokens (JWT)".
In addition to helping visitors from HN, this change could also improve the possibility for others to find the text in the future when they search for JSON Web Tokens using a search engine.
- mmmpop 9y agoTo make it more fun, people say JWT as "jot" which sends me into a blind rage.
- Freak_NL 9y agoI can imagine. Unfortunately, "jot" is the formal pronunciation of JWT… Makes me glad me and my colleagues are Dutch; we just pronounce the names of the three letters in Dutch — yaywaytay.
- mmmpop 9y agoI prefer that pronunciation too!
- devrandomguy 9y agoLet's try "Ja'wut". As in "'thentikayshun? Ja, wut am I gonna use for that?"
