To avoid FB making me miserable, I only follow people whose posts tend to be interesting. The tools are there. Just use them. If there's something I can ask FB to do is to make it still easier to manage privacy of posts, and to unsubscribe to second-degree stuff like "X liked Y" or "X reacted to Y".
