I do have a shortened, "best-of / getting started" subset on the front page. As for the similarity between links... yeah, there is some duplication, but different articles take different approaches to describing things, and might help different people. Also, having them all in one place makes it easier for people to browse through them, rather than having to fully sort through Google results themselves. I'd also welcome any help maintaining the list (organizing, updating, pruning, etc), because thus far it's been only me :)
