hmm, one of quite a few slack-a-likes out there.
One thing I wasn't too fond of in this case is that the Download: Source-code link on that page which has a github logo on it, doesn't actually go to a github page if you click it, it goes to a login/sign-up page for Total.JS and looking at the Total.JS github repo. page, this messenger app. doesn't appear to be there https://github.com/totaljs?tab=repositories https://github.com/totaljs?tab=repositories
- edu 9y agoThere're a couple of links in the top bar and down in the page to https://github.com/totaljs/framework https://github.com/totaljs/framework
- muloka 9y agoThat link in the README.md from their github repo redirects you to https://www.totaljs.com/messenger https://www.totaljs.com/messenger.
- egeozcan 9y agoThe messenger itself seems to be an (allegedly) open-source product that is only available to "premium members". Nowhere could I see a license nor source. http://i.imgur.com/tUteVRV.png http://i.imgur.com/tUteVRV.png Price seems to be low enough not to matter but I'm not paying if it's not MIT/GPL or any other O.S. license (I'm not saying it isn't, I just can't find it).
- davidcollantes 9y agoThe repo is at https://github.com/totaljs/premium-messenger https://github.com/totaljs/premium-messenger
- tekacs 9y agoThe license seems to be MIT: https://github.com/totaljs/premium-messenger/blob/master/license.txt https://github.com/totaljs/premium-messenger/blob/master/lic...
- lioeters 9y agoI agree, that feels deceptive. At least it infringes on principle of least surprise.
