I've been using Kolab for personal mail for a few years. No complaints, but no raving reviews either. There is downtime for a few hours once or twice a year, but I haven't missed any emails or anything that I know about. It's amazing how little storage, features, uptime, spam filtering, integration, etc you get for your money when you move away from Gmail! But servers and engineers aren't free, and I'm happy to pay for things I depend on (more people should realize this!).
