The person you're replying to isn't talking about minors. The age of majority in every state in the US is 18 with the exceptions of Nebraska and Alabama where it is 19. The activities listed - getting married, serving in the military, etc. are related to no longer being a minor. It is completely ridiculous that people who are not minors are barred from purchasing alcohol.
