Ask HN: MS Data Science in mid thirties

Hi All I am happy with my current life running a small bootstrapped product and consulting business. I quit my job 2 years ago to do this full-time and couldn't be happier. All good so far. However, I always had this itch for data science when I used to work in my corporate job (Investment banks/capital markets). Thinking of spending some time with Data science preferably getting an actual degree. The reason I am thinking of an official degree is that I will get to network with tons of people (would love to apply to NYU as I am not too far). That may open up possibilities for future even though I am running a business today. Anyone doing something similar ? Thoughts ?
