Sure, but they usually can learn it extremely quickly :)

That's weird, because if you have more fans, each one can spin slower. Did you just leave them all at 100% without any software control?
My tower is extremely quiet at idle, slightly louder at 100% CPU, and only actually loud at 100% GPU. (The GPU is heavily overclocked which requires more cooling from the case fans. If I ever want it to be quiet while gaming I can just lower the GPU clock and voltage. But I prefer more frames per second, I use headphones anyway :D)

That's why I also have a small Thinkpad. Compiling FreeBSD on it takes like a day, compared to less than 30 minutes on my desktop. Yeah sure the "cloud" is there but it's not for everyone. I like having actual powerful hardware.
- partycoder 9y agoThe cloud is for everyone, there is a free tier for many Amazon services. https://aws.amazon.com/s/dm/optimization/server-side-test/free-tier/free_np/ https://aws.amazon.com/s/dm/optimization/server-side-test/fr...
- floatboth 9y agoNo, I mean, I'm not comfortable working over the network, I need everything to be local and offline.
