There is something about Yelp that makes people want to give inflammatory reviews. Once upon a time, I got a fake 1-star review. I knew it was fake because I know who my clients are -- past and present. A few days later, a client who had recently cancelled our contract posted a "real" 1-star review. It was embellished to the point of being a fabrication. Luckily it eventually went away, but it was a bad experience. That fake review from someone who wasn't a client turned into a /real/ review from someone who was! With this information, I've taken a more critical eye to Yelp reviews and noticed most if not all of the reviews are useless. They also spam up search listings for "restaurants in my area" with useless results.
