Funny they went for the white man / asian woman pairing in the ad. I thought that trope was kind of offensive?

Of course it's offensive, look at how many ethnicities and genders were left out. How are us fat white slobs supposed to improve without any positive role models in the media?

Why would that be a trope and why would that be offensive? Nintendo markets heavily to American and Japanese markets. Their games are popular among women. And the white man and Asian woman aren't explicitly in a relationship. The Switch campaign had no problem including multi-racial pairs, which is seen most clearly in its ads for 1-2-3 Switch: https://youtu.be/j7p47TOmicQ?t=1m53s https://youtu.be/j7p47TOmicQ?t=1m53s
