I am probably the odd man out here, but I took two semesters of COBOL and really enjoyed it. I have been trying to figure out how to get into COBOL programming, but the job postings are few and far between and seem to want more experience than I have. I honestly think I would be really happy programming in COBOL day in and day out. As an aside, I think part of the reason I like COBOL is because I am an above average to very good academic writer. I enjoy writing papers and find it hard to meet page minimums because brevity and clarity is important to me. These characteristics (good, clean, to the point writing) seem to translate to COBOL more than any other language that I have used.
