Ask HN: From MP3 to OGG?

I run www.muziboo.com, a site to share n discuss music and we are considering revamping our upload system to support higher bitrates. We only allow MP3 uploads at this point and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to support Ogg Vorbis. The main benefit I see is the ability to play audio without flash in browsers supporting html5 (desktops and mobiles). Has anyone worked with ogg vorbis format before? Why do some people prefer ogg to MP3 (other than open source v/s patented thing)?
