I think it's safe to assume that, while self-driving tech will have broad-reaching DL-AI applications for Alphabet, there is a plan to directly sell the self-driving tech somehow. Otherwise why create the brand Waymo? If it was simply left as experimental Alphabet/Google research I think you would have a stronger point.
