At the CEO level, you are guaranteed to have a beefy base salary, with a large stock option, and a termination package (whether it is a forceful termination or not). If you are ever considered for a CEO position, you won't need to shy away from making demands because at that point you are guaranteed to have a CEO job at some other company if not this one, soon or later.
