While I appreciate the token nod towards controlling costs, and the text book scam is a mark of shame that the professoriate class should be deeply embarrassed by, this is a bit like tending to the deep cut on your hand while your severed leg spurts blood in cadence with your fading heartbeat.
- snarf21 9y agoExactly this. College books is a scam but the $500 you pay a semester isn't the reason college costs $50K per year. This seems a PR move to say they are trying something but like most things. - mikebelanger 9y agoYou're right, in the scheme of things it doesn't bring down a college education cost that much. But it's one of the relatively simpler ways of reducing the overall cost.
