Rich white women seem to benefit substantially at the expense of middle-income black men, specifically, too. The racial disparity in life expectancy is bad on its own, but has a financial impact here. (And women live longer, plus often end up with a superior amount of SS to what they've earned themselves due to spousal benefit, including survivor benefit. That is one of the overt goals of the system, though, and probably broadly supported.)
