There's one stat in there that bothers me: "About 50% of outsourced projects fail." What is the percentage of "in-sourced" projects that fail? I don't know the exact statistic, but I'm sure many software projects just flat out fail.

Good catch; as I commented in an earlier outsourcing thread today (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1418199 http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1418199), for many companies this is just a cheaper way to fail and that does have value of a sort.
