They came out with pretty gimped and disappointing products (sorry if someone's feeling offended) because they are too afraid of having their DSLR market segment disrupted by a decent mirrorless. It really feels like a half-hearted effort, more to tick the "Mirrorless" checkbox in their product offering than to produce something compelling. I'm not a huge fan of Sony, but I respect quality of this product and the effort they put in it despite having a DLSR line as well.
