My experience is that VSCode is much more responsive than Atom. Just a lot "snappier". Startup is not much of a problem, I don't open ordinary files in VSCode

My experience is that VSCode is much more responsive than Atom. Just a lot "snappier". Startup is not much of a problem, I don't open ordinary files in VSCode or Atom by default (I use gedit for that)
