It's like Zed Shaw is really angry and yelling at the hiring manager "Do you know who I am?!"
- drats 16y agoI read a story on HN a while ago about a guy who was connected to a powerful politician who was getting hassled at airport security, who didn't care about this name-dropping, and his ego got the better of him and he just flipped and started screaming "Do you know who I am?!" at them over and over. The response of the security guys was to casually call over the radio to the drag-you-away-for-a-free-prostate-exam TSA hardmen "I think you better come down here, there is a guy who doesn't know who he is".
- nailer 16y agoTo be honest, if it was for a Rails or Python gig, that would be a reasonable question. Zed has a lot of projects, people active in either community should know who he is. As they should, say, Jesse Noller, or Joe Stump, or other well known programmers.
