I generally feel my heart sink whenever I see dang or sctb post — it is almost always a negative contribution to the discussion, of the form 'we have detached this thread, because we don't like it, for opaque reasons.' I like to hope that they're doing lots of good work in the backend of HN, but what I see on the frontend is almost uniformly negative.
