- diamondo25 10y agoI've been sleeping bad the last couple days and I resorted to get an energydrink and coffee in the morning. The result was a sleepdrunk awake person, that barely functions. Pretty sure this sleep issue is because I take dinner too late in the evening (9-11pm)...
- misja111 10y agoThen you are fooling yourself, caffeine doesn't really enhance mental performance. You just feel that you are more awake, but your brains aren't. See e.g.: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20182035 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20182035
- criddell 10y ago> In conclusion, it appears that caffeine cannot be considered a 'pure' cognitive enhancer. Its indirect action on arousal, mood and concentration contributes in large part to its cognitive enhancing properties. Indirect cognitive enhancement is good enough for me.
- posterboy 10y agoThere are reasons for the body to feel tired. Deriving yourself of that feeling could have malignant long term impacts.
- princeb 10y agoprobably not, but i'm sure most people complete more tasks while they are awake than while they are sleeping.
- posterboy 10y agoI suppose, they also fudge and break more than while asleep.
