As the other poster said, you need Clover, and then you can use clinfo [1] to check you have everything installed and working.
I can't say for sure what's the latest state of Blender; somebody on Freenode #radeon mentioned a few months ago that Blender is failing to compile its OpenCL kernel, while before that somebody mentioned it as working, but quite a bit slower than with the proprietary driver. I suggest to try it yourself and report any bugs you encounter as blocking [2].
