I'm quite happy that at least three historian-programmers have come together, here.

  Add fourth! But I quit the academic path due to economic reasons, i.e bad pay, and needing to apply to grants. I think unless you're explicitly acknowledged as an engineer/programmer it's hard to get anything remotely competitive.

    My wife is a historian, I'm a programmer. That does not make me the fifth but at least a sympathizer ;)
