Long time javascript programmers are the loser (if they never learned more than javascript) they don't know how to programming an almost perfect program. That is the reason why they using javascript on Desktop. The average programmer learns just one fucking language but being a good programmer you need at least to learn 2+ languages. That you can see the performance issues in your stack. I started with PHP and javascript while this time I didn't care about performance and now I'm a c/golang programmer. When I started to study c and golang I just released how bad the whole javascript stuff is actually.
- blueprint 10y agoOr maybe it has something to do with time-to-market for existing web apps, or other loserish things. No, can't be. You must be right. Especially because you know more than one language. After all, when you learn more languages, it makes your words more true!
- loppers92 10y agoCan you tell me why Microsoft and google trying to write either supersets or a javascript clone to replace javascript? Because that language is an issue itself. I don't know one good programmer who is saying that you need javascript to make real money or that language is awesome. This language is a bug nothing else.
- blueprint 10y agoJust because that tangential point can be made to appear valid in a different context, it does not mean that it is the proof to support your original argument. Sounds like you're primarily just upset about Javascript and/or front-end web technologies.
- ionised 10y agoI'm definitely more inclined to listen to a developer with knowledge of multiple languages than one who insists on stuffing Javascript everywhere.
- pacaro 10y agoWhilst I disagree with the tone of this comment, there is value in the content. It behooves all developers to learn multiple languages, there is particular benefit to learning languages with differing paradigms. Even if you only use one language for formal development, the mental agility that thinking in more than one language gives is super valuable
