- WillyOnWheels 10y agoA Computer randomly selected 4 passengers for removal.
- strictnein 10y agoAnd probably eliminates everyone flying with multiple people on the same reservation.
- metasean 10y agoThe article mentions the first two people asked to leave were a couple flying together.
- strictnein 10y agoOh, interesting. I just kept picturing them requesting a child to leave on their own, or some other insanity.
- Macha 10y agoA couple were asked to leave first. Maybe for reservations of >4?
- phil21 10y agoIs it random? I imagine they are not kicking a Global Services passenger off because they got RNG'ed. Most likely the lowest fare ticket on the plane, since compensation is capped at 4x the cost of the segment.
- gerbilly 10y agoThey never said random, they said a computer chose who to bump, probably like this: select name from passengers order by ticket_price desc limit 4;
- protomyth 10y agoI get the feeling a lawyer will want to see that "program"'s source code. I also get the feeling that will be some interesting moments in court.

- colmvp 10y agoOh, I don't think there's a racist angle to it since it was random selection, but I will say that if by chance the guy who had been forcibly removed was black or Muslim instead of Chinese, and the physical force was the same as what occurred here, you can easily imagine the national outrage would be even greater.
