It's not ideal but to call it useless is arrogant and immature. It's a decent indicator of how the blue caps are doing in the markets. SP500 is arguable better

It's not ideal but to call it useless is arrogant and immature. It's a decent indicator of how the blue caps are doing in the markets. SP500 is arguable better but the DJI isn't useless.
- unabridged 9y agoNo Google, No Amazon. Its an arbitrary choice of 30 companies out of the top 100 market caps based mostly on stock price and whose friends are on the board. I think Hacker News could come up with a better list of 30 stocks with market cap over $30B.
