I think there is a setting to turn the stickiness off and you can switch between windows of the same application with Alt + Tilde. I guess people were impatient with Unity and found it easier to just switch DE's than to try to figure out how to customize it.
- pebers 10y agoYup, I'm certain there would be a setting to change for the former and a solution for the latter. I was unlikely to sink time into customising it though given that I had nothing invested in learning it and the switch was easy.
