It's reasonably comfortable. I'd probably put my leg down if I was going to be doing extended typing - I tend to pull it a little closer when I'm mostly consuming (shorter reach for the screen). I do regularly use it in bed and on couches though. I am 6'1", for what it's worth. I supposed it's possible that this is more comfortable with longer femurs.
