This statement is wrong since yesterday. (2017-04-06)
- KirinDave 10y agoOh damn! I gotta go update. I know I have one pending.
- merb 10y agonot sure if it's available through update, but you can install the creators update manually if not. also after that you need to lxrun /delete or so and reinstall the bash. after that it's on 16.04 and the interaction between windows <-> linux is way better. i.e. running `explorer.exe .` now works..
- KirinDave 10y agoAs far as I can tell, my statement is not wrong. You may be on a fast or slow ring, but on the normal ring a lxrun /uninstall /full lxrun /install /y bash lsb_release -a Results in: Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS Release: 14.04 Codename: trusty I'm not going to lie, you really had my hopes up and I'm really disappointed. And the dist upgrade process still just breaks randomly saying, "[Screen is terminating]". Please tell me what I need to do. :P
- merb 10y agono I'm on a normal ring (or is enterprise n different?!) but I installed it via a link inside the updates panel, when you click on updates there is a link to "creators update is out now, click on how to get it" or so. then I clicked got an installer/updater, did it and voila. (i also have access to msdn/visual studio team services which now provides media for the new build) build number is 1703 and you get it via https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4014184/windows-10-creators-update-here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4014184/windows-10-... (there is a download assistent link) P.S. on a clean install we noted a slightly different install routine.
