The accessibility of GNOME under X11 should be really good. Not so sure about Wayland though. E.g. not sure how dasher would work, nor orca. Secondly, some of the things (IIRC pointer highlighting) actually is done using some X11 application. That needs to be moved (e.g. mutter).
