Why did Waymo sue Uber? They should have sued Levandowski---he copied (no, he didn't steal!) the files in question, after all.
- throwaway2048 10y agothey claim (with very strong evidence) that uber is using waymo's designs.
- neom 10y agoThey want to prevent uber from using the technology to develop autonomous vehicles, this will severely knee cap uber.
- woodandsteel 10y agoThey are suing Uber because they claim it is using the technology in their product. Since Uber bought Levandowski's company, it is morally equivalent to Uber having hired Levandowsky to spy on Google.
- pawadu 10y agoThey claim Levandowski's company was just a front to steal Google IP and he never intended to take that company anywhere. Furthermore, they claim this was all orchestrated by Uber to create a legal firewall.
