You have to differentiate between businesses that have a monopoly* business model vs those that are operating on slim margins. Slim margin companies wouldn't thrive in such a socialistic environment, but monopoly* model businesses still could. *By monopoly, I mean the Peter theil sense of the word, as used in his book Zero to One.
