Yep. Just shows me this is not a company to buy things from, if they're going to go off at the drop of a hat like that. I agree with the point about having control of your own devices as well - an awful lot of "smart" devices are going to be worthless or near-worthless as soon as the company behind them decides it's not worthwhile to keep the cloud service running.
